Þingborgartvíband is a two-ply spun yarn made from carefully selected, first-quality Icelandic lambswool. It is produced in Iceland by Ístex for Dóruband. The wool is washed using mild cleaning agents, with the aim of preserving as much as possible of its natural characteristics.

Þingborgartvíband is available in the natural colours of Icelandic sheep and is completely undyed – the colours come straight from the sheep.

The yarn can be knitted on its own or combined with plötulopi or another yarn. It is well suited to mittens, hats and other projects where a warm and strong Icelandic wool yarn is needed.

Washing instructions
Soak the garment in lukewarm water (30°C / 86°F) with a mild wool detergent for about five minutes. Gently press out the water without wringing and rinse in clean water at the same temperature. Press out the excess water again, lay the garment flat on a towel, shape it and leave it to dry.
