About us

Harpa Ólafsdóttir is an experienced knitter who has been an active member of the Þingborg group since its foundation in 1991. The women in this group have, from the beginning, worked tirelessly in support of Icelandic wool, among other things through the production of Þingborgarlopi, which is processed by Ístex for Þingborg – from top-quality lambswool (carefully selected by this group of women) to increase both its quality and softness.
Halla Ósk Heiðmarsdóttir is an avid photographer and craftswoman. She has brought Hörpugull's color selection online, worked on the design and printing for Hörpugull products – and is married to the man who handles the company's technical matters, Tómas Héðinn Gunnarsson.
Sigríður Embla Heiðmarsdóttir is a horticulturist specializing in perennial plants. She applied her knowledge when choosing the names of the dyes, drawing inspiration from the flower and leaf colors of plants.
Harpugull has been in production since 2021 and is sold in several craft shops. We also take part in craft festivals where we set up a booth. If you'd like to experience our products before buying, you can find them at the following locations – and be sure to follow us on social media, where we announce the craft festivals we attend.
